It is not how good of a puppet builder you are. It is are you the best that you can be.

Here at Maranatha Puppets we use a 4-track  portable audio studio machine. We record character voices, sound effects, and background music on different tracks. For our performances we play back our tape through a stereo amplifier and we ad lib our character voices with the puppets. This works great for us, most of our performances are stories that are 15 to 20 minutes long and we do two of them at each showing.
