Hi there everyone,

Since I started making puppets I really can't stop making them. Just want to make more and more, but also try different pattern to search out their possibilities.

I would like to know which pattern is your favourite and why.

I'm stil searching for a pattern with a easy to handle mouth...

Dutch Puppet

There are many good puppet patterns out there but Grey Seal Puppets and The Foam Book encourages and teaches you how to make your own patterns. So the sky is the limit as to the creativity of making a puppet using the there information " Three Piece Head Method " and " Nip and Tuck Method" It is much cheaper in the long run to learn the basics of puppet building using there method. Patterns can be very expensive and may not always be what you are looking for.
If you don't own these items they are a must to add to your collection of puppetry list. I'm pretty sure they ship internationally and you want regret ordering the " Foam Book" or " DVD"
I highly reccomend.

Dear Billy D.,

The foam book will be sent to me soon... but untill it is here I'm just checking out the options. And it is always nice to know which version is used and why. Some may use a method because it is easy to make adjustments on or it is the best pattern to give a puppet a certain look. Or maybe because it is easy to handle or easy to make. I would like to know these motivations. For beginners like me it is the best way to learn more by sharing these things Wink

I guess the most common used would be the three piece head method................... since this is what many builders base a pattern design on. I do have to say the Nip and Tuck is whole new way of puppet building and although may look challenging makes a very nice puppet. So for my self I like them both but use the three piece head method the most because it seems to be the easiest.
I'm glad you are getting your book you will really enjoy it. Now remember if you have any questions when reading it come here for your answers. The staff at Grey Seal will more than happy to answer your questions.
I was a little confused at your original question as this forum unlike others is only to duscuss " Foam Book " questions........................... as stated in the rules Vania posted the other day.

But I understand more now.................... Thanks Dutch Puppet.

I guess if your used methods are in the foam book there's no problem euh. But since I haven't got it yet, I can't tell you Wink

Don't want to do anything that may be against the rules here. For a starter those rules may be a bit confusing Huh once you have the book it is easy to follow I guess...

:)I'll butt in here to say I found the book very easy to follow. Having both it and the DVD was almost as good as having an instructor come to your house. This forum really adds to the package. Steve
